Sci-Fi/Fantasy Club Meeting Minutes for February 19, 2008
1) Upcoming events?
(10,000 B.C.) The Chronicles of Who group meets this Saturday (March 1) from 7 - 10 PM in M 165a ; Animatrix meets on Saturday, March 8 from 12 - 8 PM in M 165a.
2) SRC N. Lounge (the debate over whether or not it should be open 24 hrs.)
Update: Meri Phillips met with Jocelyn Harney, Dean and Associate VP of Student Affairs, and recommended the lounge hours be kept as is. Dean Harney has apparently accepted this recommendation, though it must still be approved by the Cabinet. Thus, for the time being, the lounge remains open.
3) CODCON
Moving ahead without any major snags. More details at next week’s meeting.
4) Other stuff (if any)
The Magic Club has lost its ability to run sanctioned Friday Night Magic events, due to new rulings from higher up. They will continue to host events on Monday. They are also negotiating with an individual who could privately sponsor them to some extent. Graham Crackers Naperville store will now be running FNM events.
